Don’t Mess With IKEA
Donnycarney man John Haugh set up a business with the IKEA name in it – and very quickly the Swedish ones have come down hard against him. He’s now up in court for infringing the IKEA trademark.
One of the names we’d considered was a play on the IKEA name – IE KEA. But we rejected that because:
- we might get sued by IKEA
- it’s a crap name
I feel a wee bit sorry for Haugh. He said in court that because the Companies Registration Office had passed his name, he thought that he was OK. Hmm, those people in the CRO causing trouble again. The case continues.
